Recently John Reese email me about BlogRush, he said in the email that we will shutdown the Blogrush Service for Good. Why his team decide to do that?
BlogRush didn’t grow without its fair share of problems — from security issues to abusive users trying to ‘game’ the system to much lower click-rates than expected. We also had some problems with trying to fairly control the quality of the network, and in the process made many mistakes in deciding what blogs should stay or go. All of these issues, ultimately, limited the service’s full potential.
This few months BlogRush only contribute small portion to my traffic and its not the way that I expected, and he explain it well about it. But his idea was great to help people to get free traffic, and his Action is not failure at all, I think he gets many experiences for doing this and maybe he will make another service that more profitable… who knows… He also encouraging other entrepreneur to keep implementing their crazy ideas.
Last but not least I want to say that I hope the failure of this service doesn’t in any way discourage other entrepreneurs from coming up with crazy ideas at 4AM (like I did with this one) and from “going for it” to just try and see if something will work. Without trying there can be no success. And as we all know, ideas are worthless without action. The Web wouldn’t be what it is today without entrepreneurs trying all sorts of crazy ideas.
From here we can learn many lessons on building Internet services, you must have robust system and have way to monetize it, because without monetizing you will eventually broke
. The way you monetize is like Google did, they priorities the users first, so that the users didn’t feel annoy and they feel the they need that service.
Well Good bye BlogRush, and Great Job John Reese for Implementing this Crazy Idea into reality, I’ll wait your next Crazy Ideas in the future.
Btw, don’t forget to remove BlogRush widget from your blog… they already stop their service.
