New e-Record ver 6.1 is Now Release June 4
Recently I got an email from ATO (Australian Tax Office) about new release of e-record ver 6.1 . This software is free provided by ATO for small business and invidual to keep the record of their transaction, e-record also can generate a report for Tax purposes, so when you lodge your tax, you only need to generate it from e-record and it save a lot of time and money 
.
So what’s new in Ver 6.1?
This version has been developed for employers to allow you to lodge your pay as you go withholding payment summary annual report electronically and to print your employees’ payment summaries.
Improvements in version 6.1
- Annual totals worksheet
New title replacing the ‘Annual Summary’ worksheet, with additional functionality to create pay as you go withholding paymentsummaries. - Worker records index
Incorporates new pay as you go withholding payment summaries and annual report functionality. - Business details
Additional data entry fields to support pay as you go withholding payment summary annual reports. - Pay as you go withholding annual report
Create your pay as you go withholding payment summary annual report and prepare it for electronic lodgment
To Download e-record Ver 6.1 you can go to www.ato.gov.au/erecord select ‘Downloading, installing and upgrading e-Record‘ then ‘Which version should I use?’ and choose the option that applies to you.

e-Record version 6.1 will be available on CD in July; the CD will also contain the 2008-09 version of the Tax withheld calculator. You will be able to order a version 6.1 CD in July by phoning 1300 139 051 and selecting the option to order e-Record.
You are strongly advised to back up your data before you upgrade e-Record
It is a good practice to regularly back up your data. Although no problem is anticipated, it is also recommended that you back up your data before upgrading any software.
Tax Office support for e-Record version 2.4
We will not be supporting version 2.4 of e-Record beyond 30 June 2008. Version 2.4 was developed specifically to enable clients using Windows 95, Mac OS8 and Mac OS9 operating systems to use e-Record. Microsoft and Apple no longer support these operating systems. If you use operating systems other than Windows 95, Mac OS8 and Mac OS9 you can upgrade to the current version of e-Record.
