Windows Vista Downgrade Rights From to XP - Buy 1 Get One Free June 4
This afternoon my company sent me to Next door to fix their computer problem, which seems to be annoying problem, they have an online application reside on Server somewhere on Australia and one of the person in there just bought a new Dell Notebook which come with Vista Business… cool new OS… and this is the problem, this person cannot use one of the feature for the Online Outlook, which feature? Send mail… lol (Having Outlook without sending and email is useless) I try to figure out the network, setting up the IE, enable everything and still didn’t work.
Its annoying to know that its perfectly run in workstation but not in notebook, this is online application that should work in any OS as long as they have browser, but not in this case…. so what is the different? most of workstation using Win XP and Win 2000, and guest what Notebook use? VISTAAA… Welll I think this is the problem as the person who own this Laptop also complaint when she want to install some program and its not compatible, she also have been calling Dell that she don’t want Vista, and Dell ask her to return it to Dell which was wasting her time, as she really busy I think…..
Anyway I advice him to use her Vista Downgrade rights, which allow her to downgrade Vista to XP Pro and she still can use her vista later when Vista already stable. So which Vista can be dowgrade to XP pro? base on the rights below;
OEM Downgrade Rights for desktop operating systems apply to Windows Vista Business & Vista Ultimate End users can use the following media for their downgrade: Volume Licensing media (provided the end user has a Volume Licensing agreement), Retail (FPP), or System Builder hologram CD (provided the software is acquired in accordance with the Microsoft OEM System Builder License). Use of the downgraded operating system is governed by the Windows Vista Business License Terms, and the end user cannot use both the downgrade operating system and Windows Vista Business
What you can do is find another copy of windows then when you activate it, choose activate by phone and call Microsoft, tell them that you want use the downgrade rights. My client said thanks very much because she planning to buy New Windows XP Pro (which around $300) if she still can’t get it work on her notebook.
So rather than buying windows XP for your new computer buy Windows Vista Business or Ultimate and you can use Win XP first while you wait Vista Service Pack 1 ![]()
